Sublimation Basketball Uniform Manufacturing Process
1. Fabric Selection
Material Used: 100% polyester (interlock, mesh, or bird-eye)
GSM (Grams per Square Meter): Typically 140–200 GSM depending on customer preference
Features: Lightweight, moisture-wicking, breathable, and durable for high-performance play
2. Design Creation
Custom Graphics: Designed using software like Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW
Mockups: Created for client approval (front, back, shorts, numbers, logos, sponsor placement)
Color Matching: Uses CMYK printing; Pantone colors matched for branding accuracy
3. Sublimation Printing
Printing Method: Heat transfer sublimation
Process:
1. Design is printed on sublimation paper using sublimation inks
2. Paper is placed on the fabric
3. Fabric and paper are heat-pressed together (around 190–210°C for 30–60 seconds)
Result: Ink turns into gas and bonds with polyester molecules—permanent, vibrant print that won't peel, crack, or fade
4. Cutting
Pre-Cut Panels: Jersey front, back, sleeves, and short panels cut based on size charts (youth, adult, unisex)
5. Stitching / Sewing
Sewing Machines: 4-thread overlock, flatlock, and cover stitch machines used
Stitch Types: Double-needle and reinforced stitching for durability
Customization: Name, number, and team logo are already embedded in fabric (no extra patching)
6. Quality Control
Inspection: Size, color accuracy, alignment of graphics, sewing quality, and finishing
Tolerance: +/- 1 inch size variation allowed; strictly checked
7. Packaging
Standard Packing: One set per poly bag; bulk packed in cartons
Add-ons: Size tags, washing instructions, customer branding labels, barcode stickers (on request)
8. Lead Time
Sampling: 8–10days
Bulk Production: 7–16 days (depending on order quantity)
